We are currently busy developing the package. We expect it to be ready to go in autumn 2019.

In collaboration with the Koning Bouewijnstichting, Solentra is developing an innovative training package on the topic of working in culturally sensitive manner. The training course is aimed at preliminary and primary support providers who come into contact with refugees. As far as possible, we have opted to base the course content on the real needs and questions that occur in the field. As a result, we are designing the course to be as specific and practical as possible so it can be directly adapted to the real working environment.

Topics dealt with in the course include:

  • how does culture play a role in the contact with my clients?
  • what is resistance and how do I deal with it?
  • how should you react when a client suddenly presents their traumatic experience?
  • when and to whom should I refer clients?

And much more!

The training package will consist of a series of sessions with a trainer from the individual organisation and a digital e-learning platform. For the series of sessions, a trainer from within the organisation itself will be trained so he or she is then able to lead the training course for his or her colleagues. The e-learning platform allows the participant to deepen their understanding of the knowledge and skills presented in an interactive manner. To bring this course to life, we are working with real life witnesses, creating re-enactments of particular situations, and using ‘virtual patients’ that allow you to determine the discussion yourself etc.

We are currently busy developing the package. We expect it to be ready to go in autumn 2019.
